yvilla, the Floattip.exe utility was the icing on the cake for me too. I love the TIP with this utility and I especially love how instantly the U switches from portrait to landscape. It’s just so comfortable to work with for me. I suspect that other long time Tablet users would feel the same way about using handwriting most of the time. I have to admit I am using handwriting more and more as I get used to the little Tablet. It is a remarkable productivity booster for me.

Being so totally enamored with XP Tablet (with both an early Motion and a Toshiba), I had to go with it for my U. Once the utility to activate the floating TIP got released, it was perfect! I really owe a debt of gratitude to the person who authored that. I have tried SHARK and think it’s quite amazing; it’s just that for me it’s really not necessary, because handwriting works so well.

I heard from one other person with the same problem. Be sure and move the shark.exe file into the /shark folder. It’s a path issue.

I’m experiencing the same issue as the following IBM forum poster:

I have been unable to install SHARK as I receive an error:
“Unable to access Jarfile lib\sys.jar”
I had initially had a notice when I first attempted installation that I did not have Java 5 and generic virtual machine would be tried which of course failed. I have downloaded Java 5 Run Time (or Java J2ME 1.5 or whatever resulting in the current error. What is the correct Java device and is that what is causing problems?

Add my congratulations to your list James! I think its pretty amazing, but nonetheless well deserved that you got noticed by Sony. I’m another U70 owner they owe to you.

Awesome James! Hopefully they will continue this unusual enlightment and actually send you some eval toys. And I hope they do it before they pull another Clie move and bail on yet another market.

It seems a very appropriate accolade in light of the fact that most of the information I gathered before purchasing my U70 came from your site, and all for free. The least Sony could do is support your efforts by providing you with the latest technology to test for the rest of us.
