Gateway Tablet PC appears on the support site

Gateway M280It has been rumored for a while that Gateway was going to introduce a convertible Tablet PC and a sharp eyed Tablet PC Buzz member has spotted it on the Gateway support site, of all places.  The M280 looks to be the first widescreen Tablet PC with a 14” screen (1280 x 768) and a dedicated graphics controller (128 MB).  Full details are available on the Gateway site mentioned above.  Strange that Gateway doesn’t have the term “Tablet PC” anywhere on this support site and if it wasn’t for the single hinge in the photo you wouldn’t even know it’s a Tablet PC.  There is no confirmation in the docs that this runs Windows XP Tablet Edition 2005 except in the online user’s guide.  Gateway is really confusing new customers by referring to the M280 as a “Convertible Notebook” instead of “Tablet PC”.
