I was looking around on the Gateway site and see that the entry level model of the CX200 is now only $999! It’s only a Celeron processor but the rest of the specs are decent. Finally, a sub-$1000 Tablet PC. Awesome.

  • Circuit City had the Averatec tablet as low as $899 a few months back. Not on their site now. It was tempting…

  • Figures. After I order the Toshiba Tecra M4 for nearly double that! Anyway, soon I’ll be joining the Tablet PC world. The Tecra is on the truck between Chicago and my home.

  • Congrats, Frank. I think you’ll really like the M4. Remember the Gateway mentioned here is just a Celeron.

  • I got an email from Toshiba yesterday offering me 20% off one of their convertibles making it $999.

Is it something in the water?

And was that a Motion LE1600 in a bump case I saw being used as an alien bomb detector on this past Friday’s episode of Stargate SG-1? I guess tablets are now cheap enough Hollywood can afford them. :-)
