Mindjet releases new Tablet plug-in for MindManager

The good folks at Mindjet are at it again and this time they have released a plug-in for MindManager that makes me very happy. On a recent OnTheRun with Tablet PCs podcast Lyn and Olga expressed a desire to be able to draw freehand ink on their mind maps. Michael Scherotter of Mindjet just posted a comment on jkOnTheRun announcing the new Tablet Extensions for MindManager. This new MindManager plug-in isn’t quite what they were asking for but can do in a pinch. The new Tablet Extensions for MM add two new utilities- an export to OneNote so you can send your maps to a OneNote section where you can ink to your heart’s delight. The export works perfectly and I can already see many uses for this in my work. The map goes into OneNote as a resizable image that you can ink all over and the export also puts a link back to the original MM map. How cool is that?

The other plug-in that is installed as part of the Tablet Extensions is a MM import for Windows Journal files. Now you can bring your Journal pages right into MM. Great stuff. Here’s a screen image of a map once it has been exported to OneNote, notice the freehand ink I have added (click to enlarge):
