Audible adds mobility to Smartphone software

Audibleair02_1Don over at BostonPocketPC installed the latest Audible player on his Smartphone and was treated to a nice mobile surprise. Audible added functionality that I hope other mobile content providers look to add: the ability to download your content to a mobile device without a host computer. Pressing the Menu softkey resulted in an option for AudibleAir, as Don found. AudibleAir takes advantage of a mobile device’s wireless connectivity to grab content on the go; in fact you can even schedule downloads with the software, making AudibleAir very similar in concept to a podcatcher application. Don’s got the whole scoop with additional screenshots for your viewing pleasure. Sorry, no audible interpretation of his post is available. ;)
