AmrI’m all for expanding the podcast audience beyond computers…OK, so I’m biased. Still, it doesn’t matter what podcast is your favorite; if you’re looking for a way to easily convert those .mp3 files into something your cell phone can use, you’ll want to take a look at Mobilecast.

This free application takes a standard .mp3 file and re-encodes it into 10 minute segments in the AMR format. AMR is in adaptive-multi-rate codec that outputs files from three to six times smaller than .mp3 and is compatible with Symbian-OS based mobile phones. In fact, as an added bonus, here’s a link to a third party AMR / media player for Symbian, just because we’re in a good mood today. ;)
