Slingbox_7Like a giant game of Risk, Sling Media continues marching towards world domination of mobile television slinging. Today the company announced a foothold in the Scandinavian region of the globe under the guise of Viasat Everywhere. Viasat is the largest free- and pay-TV service in the area; mobile Swedes can now purchase a Slingbox, er..a Viasat Everywhere unit at 2.695 Swedish Kronor, which I peg at $375 US. That sounds high to me, but it could be my currency conversion, courtesy of XE.com.

Not to be left out, Denmark and Norway will soon have the device available. Hey, why should the Swedes be the only ones to sling television to the outdoor sauna? Check out the full press release over at Sling.

  • What the press release doesn’t tell you is that Veep Jeremy Toeman took an HTC breeze with him to Stockholm last week and shot some decent 2 megapixel pics. Not that it matters since I’m eyeing the Blackberry Pearl. ;)

  • Your price conversion is probably right. Things are ridiculously expensive here because of taxes, profit margins etc (just plain greed, basically). The latest gadget I’ve had to import is my Samsung Q1. I’ve just recieved a bill from customs for 2000 kroner!
