I think next realease will remove current problems.

Brenda and Carsten: thanks for the additional info. I see that Carsten did get the touchscreen working, so I may pursue this when time allows. Although I’d still be missing HWR, I wouldn’t need a mouse if I could get the touchscreen working…gets me closer! Thanks again.

The stuff on the howto applies to almost any touchscreen on linux, so Samsung included. Give it a go. never looked into handwriting recognition but i’m sure google has much info.

and i thinks we should try bugging samsung for a demo unit….

JonGH did guess correctly, but no ink due to no touchscreen. As I’m a Linux n00b, I’ll need some time to figure out the touchscreen solution, assuming there is one. The Sony UX screen works with some updates, so here’s hoping the Q1 will work too…

I prepared or installed at work Ubuntu in a VMWare machine and I was planing to run that machine in my eo. I think that this well be a lot faster than run it from a CD.

I tried the Knoppix Live CD today and I think that it is slightly better than Ubuntu. I could access all my Windows drives and files and since I want to use this as a future rescue disc this was the clincher for me.

Most tablets have special bios settings to run the touchscreen, thats why it dont work with non xp tablet os even with right drivers…
This can be tested by installing normal xp to the device… touch should not work there ..

so.. ask nontablet bios from sammy
