Freeware of the moment: voice announcements with AudioID for Skype

AudioIDIf you’re a heavy duty Skyper that likes to occasionally step away from the PC, you might want to download Audio ID for Skype from the NHANDZ development team. This very small application has a single purpose: voice announce incoming Skype calls by the caller’s Skype ID. You’ll need Microsoft’s free Speech Application Program Interface (SAPI), but if you’re running Windows XP, there’s a good chance you already have the voices of Microsoft Sam and a few others installed. Audio ID for Skype sits in the tray and patiently waits for your incoming Skype calls; you can be as far from your computer as your PC speaker volume will allow you, so you won’t miss a Skype call when taking a quick PC break.
