Christmas Eve 2006 – I bought my Xbo(ll)ox just over a week ago and tonight, the eve of Christmas when I should be online saving the world from imminent doom, the bloody thing has packed in. Yeah, it’s the red light syndrome.

Computer wise, I have converted from PC to MAC over a year ago. This is because as a technician, Microsoft windows has aged me by about 112 years.

When I first purchased my Xbox 360, I was not aware (believe it or not) that it was a Microsoft operating system. Therefore, when I turned it on and saw the name Microsoft, I immediately went to the toilet… But then I started to play the games, while cooking my steak on it at the same time. The graphics was awesome. The online interactivity was second to none. Oh the joy! Oh the fun! I smiled…and then…I froze…just like the image on the screen! Yeah, it had crashed! A one off I thought! So, like a reliable crash test dummy I stuck with it, crashing again and again, and again and again!

And now, tonight it’s the red light district only I feel like I’ve been screwed! Xbox 360…what a load of unreliable Microsoft crap!

Mine just died too. MS said they will fix this for free but I have to pay for shipping. I popped Fifa 06 in after playing some splinter cell D.A and all I got was 3 red lights… this sucks. The thing dies just before Gears of War… I reserved gears of war a 1/2 year ago and now I cannot play it after I buy it tomorrow.

I signed up at EB Games for an xbox 360 back in december of 2005.
We got the console in February of 2006.
The box date of manufacture was Jan 5, 2006.
This was my Son’s Christmas present.
The unit got the 3 red lights of death in July.
I have atleast 1000.00 into the system,
and I have to say this, We waited, and looked forward to this unit for the 3 months it took to get it. Daily, my son and I would look at each other and say… XBOX 360! WOW AND laugh. We were sooooo excited, and let me tell you, it was hard to scrape up the money to get this for my son. Really, I mean, a grand is not much to a lot of you guys, but I am trying to feed my family of 4, pay the house note and keep electricy in the house. All that is very expensive, but my son is worth it to me. So, I thought, get him the best money can buy, the XBOX 360 PRO SYSTEM.

What a joke, a terrible, NOT funny joke.

The real pain came when I found out the piece of crap only comes with a 90 day warranty! $400.00 AND A 90 DAY WARRANTY!
That should have sent warning signs right there.
When I bought it, I just assumed with a well known name lime MickySoft, the thing would be awesome and they wouuld stand behind their product… Yeah, right!

Hold tight Brian: I received a replacement unit (not the same one I sent) in about a week after sending it. So far, so good for this one!

Mine died a horrible death as well last week, I to waited in the cold for this bad boy.
Its coffin came last night and I sent it off to Texas to be throw in the big hole down there, hoping for a speeding return

As I mentioned on my site, mine died this week as well as a number of others. Weird coincidence?

Too funny. My midnight November wait in line edition Xbox started having the same issue last night too! Gonna call support and get the repair too. Good thing I have another one. (we have LAN parties all the time)
