Multi-Touch technology demo

We’ve seen multi-touch ideas in Apple patents, but this video is one of the first demos I’ve seen of Multi-Touch technology. Some of the video is just cool eye-candy, but around one minute in, you can start to see some practical uses for multiple windows. Later on, there’s a great demo of map usage: zooming in is quickly done by placing a finger from each hand on the screen and moving your hands apart! You can see where I’m going….er…actually you can’t…until you watch the video!

  • Imagine if we can get that kind of interaction on a UMPC. I think that would pretty much crush any concept of complaints about a keyboard and mouse. What a fantastic video.
    Thanks for that one.

  • It almost looks like in the movie “Minority Report”.

  • The creators of the movie Minority Report consulted a technology adviser on possible future inputs and things of that nature. The weapon designs and such were all concepts. The input however may have been based on technology that was being developed at the time.
