OQO handheld gains cellular capability?
A pre-cursor to the Project Origami UMPC concept, the OQO, looks to be adding more functions to the diminutive handhelds bag of tricks. Jon Fortt from Business 2.0 tells us that the next model OQO will include a "brighter screen, improved keyboard, more memory, a bigger hard drive and wide-area wireless capability, all for about the same price as the current model".
Looks like we’ll find out if the upgrade comes to pass by the time the Consumer Electronics Show comes around to Vegas in January. If you missed out on the OQO in the past, James has a hands-on video review here and provides some advice to the OQO folks as well. Integrated WAN connectivity is a nice-to-have for most folks, but given another year or two and I think you’ll be hard pressed to find many mobile computing devices without it as a standard, if not an option.
