Sounds like at least one of the many Apple patents will finally be put to use. TrustedReviews indicates that we’ll see a touchscreen iPod this December, providing for a larger and higher resolution screen. I’d fully expect this screen to be at least VGA (640 x 480) capable based on the iTunes Movies format, if not 720 x 480 for a more widescreen appearance. Also in the Apple rumor-mill (but fairly likely) is the iPhone release shortly after the new year begins. Possibilities of a music subscription service abound when you combine an iTunes capable device with cellular connectivity for music downloads.

  • And according to Engadget, there will be 2 versions of the iPhone. One that will be similar to an iPod and another one with wifi, a keyboard, etc.

    Rumors, rumors…

  • And wouldn’t it be hot to see cover flow view like in itunes 7 on a touchscreen ipod that size? the virtual clickwheel would control the cover flow movement… I’d love to see that.
