Use that Blackberry as a Mac OS X modem
BlackBerry meet Mac. Mac meet BlackBerry. Let no man (or woman) break the modem connection that the computing deities have brought together. Yup, you can now tether a BlackBerry for modem usage to a Mac, but it took a financial bounty for the solution!
Alex King gathered interested mobile enthusiasts (and their donations) to devise a solution, and the bounty has been awarded. If you didn’t contribute to the bounty, you can’t get the functionality just yet; in a very democratic move, the financial backers get the first crack at the CrackBerry modem for Mac. Fret not: there’s a public release coming soon, so hold tight and expect to shell out a few bucks. This is a Bluetooth tethering solution, so bear in mind you’ll be limited to the Bluetooth throughput. Oh, and the bounty booty of $675 went to Daniel Pasco; nice job!

Found you via Gizmodo – A big congratulations to Daniel! This was a tough nut to crack. Might be worth mentioning that this only works for the 870* series, just so 710* owners don’t get their hopes up.
