I have a 1510 and just spilled an entire mug of tea on it. I opened it up to dry it out, but don’t have much home for it. I’m shopping while it dries. I hate to spend the money, but I have to say that I’m not going to be disappointed to get the enhanced memory, etc.

The 1610 is not that hot like a eo v7110 but it’s warmer than a Q1.

I don’t notice any heat issue with all day use of the 1610.

I had the fujitsu 1510d and noticed that it heated up real hot on the bottom left side. Did fujitsu erase this problem with the 1610?

Hmm…. Sounds like JK’s Q1 might be appropriately named as in “gone in a…”

Please provide comments regarding the screen’s readability, when outside in bright sunlight. Is this the long-awaited device for us folks whose jobs involve working outside alot?

Josh, I have an external battery which works just as well with the Fuji as with my other devices and I don’t see the need for additional (or extended) batteries. With ultra-mobile devices like this I am finding it better to work with just the standard batteries because I don’t want to take a light device and add a 1 lb. extended battery to it. Your idea to use the Fuji with the external keyboard with the screen swivelled around backwards is exactly how I use it.

I am looking forward to your review. I have a Fujitsu P1120, two generation back. I had to install windows 2000 because of the crusoe prossesor was to slow to handle windows xp with only 256mb of fixed memory. Some of the reasons I like this device is the extended battery for 7 hours of run time and small form factor. I am planning on purchasing the Fujitsu p1610d to replace this device. If you end up purchasing the Fujitsu p1610d, you may want to invest in a external battery charger and two high capacity batteries. This would cut your weight down considerable ( you won’t have to carry the portable power station). Also, you could rotate the display 180 degree, making it’s own stand. Kind of like a L shape, to use your bluetooth keyboard for long text entry. It is nice that it comes with a PC Card slot. Think of the time wasted tethering the PPC 6700 and Active Sync issuses. I now you are a big fan of Active Sync. ( lol
