Sling receiver and a Palm player coming soon

Wow, I barely got off the plane here in Vegas and already the Sling folks are…well….slinging the news on their new products. Yesterday while I was packing, Zatz Not Funny reported on the SlingCatcher product. The SlingCatcher(shown below) gets hooked up to any TV and receives a signal from your Slingbox, thanks to integrated WiFi. That could come in handy for watching those YouTube and other Internet vids on a big screen; as Om Malik calls it "a Slingbox in reverse."

The Sling Media team also showed off the SlingPlayer software for the Palm Treo 700p at last night’s Digital Experience show; watch for a release in the first quarter of this year. It might not be in time for this season of "24", which is Gates’ fave (he told me and 4,000 of his least closest friends), but you Treo toters should be in good shape for the baseball season.
