I would, if I didn’t already own a Q1 (Celeron). So long as it still remains below the price-point of “thin and light” notebooks, I can see a sales niche for UMPCs.

Lower would be better, of course, but I don’t think the current price scheme will doom the form factor.

I think PJE has a good point.

As an example… Look how many people were trying to kill each other for 20 dollar DVD players at WalMart a few years back, vs how many people aren’t killing each other for PS3’s or stand-alone Blu-Ray players (I think those are what, 700 dollars?). Sure, there may not be content for those devices, but at the same time, look how freaking expensive the player is.

Hence the Q1 Ultra… more features! Twice the price! And who will buy it?

As many people have stated before me, the UMPC will only take off when it is cheaper. I’d pay $1000 for a Q1 Ultra, but I feel it would sell a lot faster at $750.

If it could use the new Intel combined CPU/GPU – Perryville? to keep the cost/size down then they may have something.

At present they seem to be keeping the price at the original UMPC level while adding more features.
