I’ve been using one of these for about 2 months now and I must say that my Toshiba XP tablet is getting MUCH less use. I really love the tablet platform its a great idea and for note taking in ink it can’t be beat but the N800 really stopped my yearning for Q1 or similar. I tried an experiment dumping the Tablet and taking the N800 for note taking with a bluetooth keyboard and I found that I really don’t want to carry a laptop around anymore.
I souped up the the storage with 8gb of storage recently and signed up for Rhapsody and now its a great media device.
I second James on the fun aspect, the N800 is simply fun to use. There is some niggles, such as the touch screen is finicky and software can be buggy (open source ports) but for core browsing with Minimo or Opera, this device comes closer to a consumer UMPC than any Windows based device can. If there was simply more polished software (read : less half finished open source ports) available on it it would be the real deal.

I’ve had my N800 since mid-January and since the latest update it has been working almost flawlessly for me. This is the most fun I’ve had with a little computer since I moved to Moscow with my Rexx 6000 in my wallet in June, 2000. I’m glad I’m back in the US where wireless is so commom now.

And to answer someone’s question, you can’t shoot video with it, and even the camera isn’t much good if you ask me. But it is essential otherwise.

How is YouTube on it? My interest is academic, you understand.

I see potential for this device but I see more for umpcs.

Mike, I had to update the software when the newest version came out; I think it was early last month. Better Flash and BT support per the release notes.

BTW, Kevin, there’s supposed to be an OS update (I grit my teeth upon that word!) that allegedly improves Flash use. Did it come with that already installed?

Ok, you get a N800 for free, I buy one. What gives? But my real question is, how did you get the N800 to work with the T-Dash? I have had no joy, so I am guessing you aren’t using Bluetooth. If you are using Bluetooth please point me in a direction because it appears the N800 doesn’t support PAN and all I have managed to do to fix that is a bunch of Unix magic that I haven’t got my head around yet.

James, after spending some more time with N800, could you share your opinion on N800 as an UMPC replacement?
Are there any Office type applications for N800 for word prcessing and spreadsheet work?
