Twitter demystified

My recent posting about Twitter raised some reader questions that pointed out that quite a few people are still trying to get their heads around the hard to describe phenomenon.  The Houston Chronicle´s column by Dwight Silverman today takes on the daunting task of trying to describe Twitter and does the best job I’ve seen yet at doing so. Take a look if you’re on the fence about Twitter or just can’t see the appeal of Twittering. Dwight describes it very well.

  • Ha! Even the article doesn’t help when you are faced with the blank screen saying: add your friends! My friends don’t do computers or Twitter or IM or e-mail. Yikes. BUT….Dwight put his Twitter address in the article and VOILA ! the world of Twitter. Not only that, but there was JK’s picture and many others, and clicking on each let me listen into the mindflow of each. Very interesting. Sorry for listening in James, but Twitter without Twittering was driving me nuts. Technically, I guess I’m still not Twittering, but it’s fun nevertheless.
