So it looks like the new device naming trend is to stick with flavors. LG must agree because the maker of the LG Chocolate phone will also have a Chocolate notebook: the LG Z1, which is now appearing on GearLog. Not sure I like the glossy-looking casing from a fingerprint perspective, but it does add a air of class and refinement. The Z1 is another laptop offering a 2.5-inch Vista Sideshow LCD on the outside for quick access to e-mail and other data, even when the machine is powered down. Unlike the Asus W5Fe which has a similar external display, this one appears fairly flush with the device casing.

Aside from that, this looks like your standard 12.1-inch WXGA notebook with a 1.83 GHz Core 2 Duo and 1 GB of RAM although it will offer a dedicated graphics card: the ATI Mobility Radeon X1350 with 512 MB of video memory. No pricing or availability just yet; watch for it in your local sweets shop. Hey, didn’t RIM start all of this food naming with the BlackBerry?
