I took out my trusty abacus and counted all of the votes….there were a few hanging chads too, but we’ve triple-checked the results and here you go. Part of me is surprised that the HTC Touch won out on this particular question, simply because the Apple iPhone offers more touch functionality overall and has that typical sexy Apple design. Then again, I suspect that our reader base is more Windows and Windows Mobile-centric, so perhaps this came as no surprise.

Oh, and for the 15 of you that "like to live large", feel free to send me any of your throwaway devices. Now that I’m a full-time blogger, the gadget fund is waaaaay low. ;)

  • just a thought…
Maybe people voted for the HTC because you have a lot of corporate readers who need push mail of the Outlook/Lotus Notes variety. For me, that is the one show-stopper for the iphone.

  • My reason for not choosing the iPhone is because it doesn’t have a card slot, which is a shame, since photos would look good in a nice, high res screen. Then again, I didn’t like the HTC touch either, coz its a pretender – a windows mobile wolf in touchflo sheep clothing…and you know what? I like my plastic qwerty keyboard keys to punch out IM’s and sms’s. I also tend to be more function than aesthetic centric too, and I find the big colourful icons a waste of screen real-estate.

  • with 4 or 8 GIGS of memory what do you need a card reader for? just put them on your desktop, and Itunes will automatically sync them over to the i phone

  • 4-8gb memory, no wifi, slow EDGE, wow. I take back my previous comment about being a non smartphone media player only, it will be subpar even in this regard with that extremely limited storage and connectivity.

I’ll keep my window mobile device with a 4gb memory card, wifi and 3g to access unlimited storage on my hard drives at home and office, free streaming television/utube/etc., and of course the thousands of programs written for it.
