HTC Omni- is it real?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- HTC is the most innovative producer of Windows Mobile devices around.  If you doubt that statement take a look at these new photos of the rumored HTC Omni that recently surfaced on the web:

OMG, the Omni is drop-dead gorgeous and has some pretty decent specs:

  • Windows Mobile 6.0 OS
  • UMTS/HSDPA connectivity
  • WVGA 4″ 800×480 px display, subdisplay
  • TV and VGA out
  • 256 ROM, 1280 RAM and microSD memory card slot
  • Wi-Fi b/g, USB and Bluetooth connectivity
  • GPS/A-GPS
  • Full QWERTY keyboard
  • Dimensions: 130 x 81 x16 mm

If you’ve been lusting after the HTC Advantage prepare to pull out your wallet when the Omni becomes available.  This might lend a little credibility to the smartphone companion category that the Palm Foleo created.

  • This may just be my next device, though the i-Mate Ultimate 7150 looks pretty spiffy too. Not sure about availability where I am for the i-Mate, but HTC is everywhere… and this one does have GPS too.

Definitely a model to watch. The Advantage is just way too big and clumsy and for no reason; VGA on 3.5 inches is fantastic, no need for those extra inches at all, they just cause the device to get flabby.
