Logitech VX Nano Cordless mouse: nice fit for UMPCs

Logitechnano1Over at The Spicy Gadget, Iron Chef Cook picks up the fact that size does matter. For mobile device peripherals…er…you know what I meant. ;) See the dongle for the Logitech VX Nano Cordless mouse? It’s only going to produce an 8mm nub coming out of your mobile device and for UMPCs that are constantly watching their figure, that’s an appetizing prospect. On one hand I’d fear to lose the small RF dongle, but on the other hand, I’d probably leave this in a USB port and never think about it again.

You’ll get around six months from two AAA batteries and there’s a nice scrolling mode to speed up the process. Watch for the VX Nano on the menu next month for around $70.

  • Isn’t Bluetooth supposed to be used for this? Still for those UMPC’s and laptops without BT this is a nice option. What size is the mouse though?
For UMPC’s wouldn’t that air mouse be even a neater fit as you could hold the UMPC in one hand and wave the air mouse with the other.

  • Hey Kevin!

I’m still waiting for the copyright people from the Iron Chef show to come after me, 8(.

That mouse does look really hot through, I have a notebook right now that could use a mouse like that, but I better hold off, I waste way too much money on things I don’t need, but boy is that mouse tempting.

  • Bill,

I’m not sure about exact sizes (too lazy to look up) but from what I recall the MX air mouse is much larger than the vx nano mouse. I don’t think the MX air mouse was specifically designed with the mobile user in mind, I think it’s geared more towards home use where desktop or notebooks are connected to the TV.

  • Yeah, seems to me the dongle is sorta redundant. They should have made it a Bluetooth mouse, and then impressed us all by including a dongle exactly like that – that was a Bluetooth dongle, for those devices that didn’t have Bluetooth…
