Quick hit video: Earthcomber, free personal radar

Although I’m showing Earthcomber on the iPhone, it works on multiple devices: Palm, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, even a standard cell phone that’s web-capable. Earthcomber is touted as "personal radar for your phone" and that’s a pretty accurate description. Although there are other location-based applications to find places and services in your location, I like Earthcomber’s category and sub-category approach. It’s a free service and easy to use, so give it a look when you’re out and about.

  • I like Earthcomber bc you don’t have to type in your search, like you have to w Google. Much faster than Google maps too.

  • Kevin, you’re funny :) That’s a good thing. What’s with the bike jersey?

  • Tour de France Power ! You now have to put one video of you riding your bike ;-)

  • tnkgrl: the sad part is, that’s how I am all the time. Quite pitiful really. :)

Romain, as soon as I get the training wheels off of my Trek, I’ll be sure to fire up the webcam. Give me a few years yet. ;) Seriously, I find that if put one of my bike jerseys on in the morning, it actually motivates me to go for a ride later in the day. I started doing this on Sunday this week and haven’t missed a day of riding yet. Unfortunately, I either have to do laundry tonight or the streak ends today! :)
