Sony PSP getting Sky video downloads in U.K., Ireland
This won’t happen until next year and the details are scant, but GameSpot UK reports that video-on-demand is coming to the PSP in the U.K. and Ireland. The deal is between Sony and Sky, a satellite television broadcaster that provides digital service for "the tele telly" to over 8.5 million customers. Sony is looking to expand the planned service to other EU communities, but has not indicated that it’s considering geographic markets outside of Europe with other broadcasters. Regardless of the details, I’ll bet we see a fair amount of PSPs near the Thames using that free WiFi for video. Any U.K. readers hit that area regularly? What devices are you seeing the mesh network?

I’m a little confused by the wording, when they say video on demand does that mean streaming video or is it video download?
James: I see PSPs quite often on the trains (some of the trains offer wireless internet). Around London the old-fashioned laptop is still the most common sight, though tablets are far from unusual.
The WiFi coverage is great, but it does not make all that much difference as 3G / HSDPA coverage over here is excellent
And over here it is called “telly”, not “tele”
