I second Kornel's recommendation. I've had the PX-608CU for a few months. People at school and work are always amazed by how slim it is and that it doesn't need an additional power supply. I carry my Rosetta Stone Japanese CD in it so I can study on my X60 Tablet anyplace when I have downtime. It's quite fast to write, and the box seems to list hundreds and hundreds of formats that it will support (grin).

How is this new Sony drive powered? Most of these types of drives require a separate power adapter. The Plextor requires 2 USB ports instead.

I personally use a Plextor PX-608CU. Its small, thin, light and usb powered. A great companion to my P1610. Although it costs around $150, its worth it.
