DualCor finally gets in the news- sues Intel
You remember DualCor, the people that were going to bring the innovative cPc to market last year? Neither did anyone else so to get their name in the news they have sued none other than Intel. Hey, they have an airtight case, Core Duo processors can easily be confused with the DualCor name, right? I thought so. It’s just good business practice, if you can’t get a product to market before it’s old technology then sue somebody big. A bit of advice to the DualCor legal team- a million bucks is nothing to deep pockets like those at Intel. Couldn’t you do better than that? Who’s next, HTC with the upcoming Shift designed to run dual processors?

Doesn’t it sound like a joke? According to another source, the action states “by using the “Dual Core” name, Intel is “likely to cause confusion, mistake or deception among consumers as to the source quality and nature of DualCor’s goods.”
Laughable…
Lame, lame, LAME! They must be pretty desperate to try and sue intel just because of a similarity in name like that. I wonder what this says about their claim to a mobile device which contains both a arm and x86 processor (ie. like the one on the HTC Shift) – you’d think they’d be going for HTC even before intel…
and one more thing: when intel mentions “dual core”, they’re giving a description, not the name of the product anyway!!! Hmmm, maybe they’re doing it to maintain their trademark – don’t companies lose their trademark on something if they don’t fight for it? Though I would have thought a simple take-down notice would have been enough, and maybe should’ve been done a tad earlier…
ooooh…. you are gonna get it (from you know who of you know what website) for badmouthing (ie. having an opinion on/stating the facts about) DualCor!
(by the way- i’m with you all the way)
