Orbitz launches Traveler Update: like Twitter for travelers

Ortbitz_traveler_updateEver get to the airport only to stand in line and wait because of an unannounced delay. Sure, the folks at the front of the line knew a few hours ago, but that didn’t help you, did it? Maybe next time it will thanks to the Orbitz Traveler Update program. Think of it as travel updates for travelers and by travelers. Just like Twitter, folks can post short, real-time status updates to share travel information.

You can view the updates and portal via PC or cell phone; don’t worry, this doesn’t have yet another friends list for you to manage since your updates show up for everyone on the main Orbitz Traveler Update portal. Find the shortest ticket line at your airport? Shoot it out there for all the world to see; just wait until after you’ve got your ticket and bags checked. No need to give the good info out too early! Wonder if we’ll see this on the next "Amazing Race" season? I could see some teams feeding bad info to the other teams this way…
