AIRcable Host XR extends Bluetooth to 1 km, or does it?

After a planned and rare day off yesterday to play golf in the Poconos, I’m playing catch-up with my RSS feeds this morning. A claim of a 1 kilometer Bluetooth range extender caught my eye so I just hit up The Gadgeteer where Julie provides a hands-on review. For $129, the AIRcable Host XR allegedly extends your typical 30-foot wireless range for Bluetooth to 1 km, but that wasn’t Julie’s experience. In fact, all of my drives off the tee yesterday were much farther than the range Julie had with her Bluetooth; and I’m a terrible golfer! The device might be worth it for some, but check out what Julie had to say before your drop your $129.
