Fujitsu U1010 or Asus R2Hv: thoughts from Jenneth
The Fujitsu U1010 UMPC offers up the integrated keyboard that everyone seems to want. Plus it has the newest Intel power efficient A110 CPU to help with battery life. It offers the versatility of a convertible Tablet PC form factor as well. So why does Jenneth think her Asus R2Hv is a better choice? Limited screen res options, sub-par relative performance and limited use for the small keyboard. Granted, everyone’s needs are different and for many prospective UMPC users, the U1010 might offer the perfect personal computing experience for a companion device. Jenneth’s review at Gear Diary offers some great comparisons, impressions and insights on the U1010, so if you’re considering the device, this info is well worth it.

I’ve seen a benchmark of the Fujitsu that says its faster than the OQO 02
Anyone know if the Fn key is sticky on the fujitsu – otherwise tab is going to be a pain (its on the space bar)
wow that is a bad review. i mean the review itself, not the device review. it looks like something my mom would write.
why does a site such as this promote something like that? is she a personal friend or does it help push your anti A1xx agenda?
i notice all the positive reviews never get mentioned.
Ouch. Inter, do you have any constructive criticism to offer? Insulting myself and your poor mother without being specific about your problems with the review doesn’t help anyone, nor does it do anything for your own credibility.
@Scoobie: what benchmark was that? I’m going to have an OQO 02 next week and can run them side by side. And no, the Fn key isn’t sticky.
Jenneth – its a chess benchmark ctitanic has been running on all umpcs. see ctitanic posts in origami project.com hardware forums (search on chess) or on his weblog. He is actually after a screenshot of a U1010 benchmark using this program so maybe you could help?

One of the best written reviews commenting on the keyboard experience (don’t do video reviews much). Also appreciated the honest observation on performance balanced with the media experience.
For me it is either small wih thumb keyboard as in the OQO 02, or larger as in 7″ bezel size or larger with touch type keyboard as in all 10 fingers & thumbs.
From what I’ve experienced with the OQO 02 & read with the Sony UX, thumb keyboards work great, but larger devices starting with the Vulcan FlipStart on up are too heavy or bulky to thumb keyboard with, and not too impressed with the Q1u split thumb keys.
Would be nice to see usable full size convertable or slide out keyboard, dual active digitizer touch screen, and SSD in a UMPC size form factor with the power & graphics of the best Sony UX.
