IphoneheadsetadapterI might have enough Canadian pennies saved up for this headphone adapter from Helium Digital. Oh stop laughing, I know you have some of those Maple Leaf cents in a drawer too. Seriously, for $3.99 Canadian and free shipping, I think I’m going to nab an HD-005 3.5 mm headphone adapter for my iPhone. Chris Leckness found this inexpensive cable that allows you to use any standard headphone set with the iPhone’s recessed jack. The HD-005 works with microphone-equipped ‘phones too, so you can have the best of both worlds. Now the trick is to decide what headphones to buy. I can’t drop too much money on a full-time blogger budget, but the Shure E2c’s are in our Amazon store for under $55 right now, so I’m leaning in that direction. I don’t need a microphone on my headset, so I’m open to suggestions…

  • Heh, might as well spend some of those US pennies seeing as how the US and Canadian currencies are almost at parity. Actually its really made those pricy US products a lot cheaper and more appealing now that the currencies are so close. Buying products from the US is like getting a 30% discount nowadays. That Model 02 is starting to look better and better.

  • I bought a $2 adaptor off eBay in early July and I’ve really missed the click button for controlling the iPhone. I’m leaning towards a pair of Etymotic’s that have been soldered onto the iPhone cable so you get the clicker button coupled to some decent ‘buds.
