Wakerupper: free web-based wake-up call service
On the road and need a wake-up call? Have no fear, Wakerupper is here! This free site lets you choose the date and time of your call; you can even type a 140-character message and Wakerupper will translate the text to speech and read your reminder to you. I gave it a try and it nailed this 100%: "This is a test message. Don’t forget to pick up Tyler."
The best part is, you don’t need a fancy, schmancy smartphone since Wakerupper works with any phone that’s capable of… well… being a phone! Aside from the traveling types, this could be useful for scheduling important task reminders and such. The website offers some suggested uses, but I don’t think I’d personally use this to "remind a child or spouse to do chores" or "tell someone you love them". I have plenty of non-techie ways to do those things; shame on me (and you) if we need a web service to share our feelings for significant others. But while we’re on the subject… we do appreciate you readers!

Bad idea showing this off. Now I’m going to schedule 3AM crank calls to friends.
I just went to Wakerupper and it says they’re full. Found http://TelePixie.com that does the same and more.
