Fujitsuv1010This Fujitsu V1010 that starts at $799 is easily one of the lowest priced LifeBook’s I’ve ever seen offered. This 15.4-inch WXGA laptop with integrated DVD burner won’t set the world on fire in terms of performance or battery life, but for under a grand, it’s a reasonable value. The base model includes an Intel Core Duo running at 1.86 GHz, 120 GB drive at 5400 RPM, and a gig of RAM. For another $100, you can change the CPU to a 1.6 GHz Core 2 Duo with double the L2 cache and up the RAM to 2 GB. You’ll get a choice of Vista Business or XP Professional but you might want to pick up a spare battery: Fujitsu rates the standard battery at 2.25 hours.
