Nokia N800 price drop of 30% = $279.99
ThoughtFix got a reader tip over at Planet Maemo and it’s a hot one! The Nokia N800 Internet Tablet is reportedly 30% off list at both Amazon and Target. I just hit up our Amazon store to confirm and it’s true: at the current moment a brand new Nokia N800 can be yours for $279.99, which is $130 off the normal retail price. For folks that don’t need their handheld to function as a phone, the N800 is a very capable little device for Skype, web-browsing, POP e-mail and more. It’s also eligible for free super saver shipping, so if you can wait for delivery, there’s no shipping charge. Heh, wait for a new gadget to arrive via ground… like that’s gonna happen.

I got this email from reader Matthew Bates who bought a N800 from Amazon 10 days before the price drop:
“Just thought you might be interested to know that myself and a friend at work recently purchased N800’s from Amazon 10 days ago before the price drop. After we saw the price drop on JKOTR we emailed customer service and they had rebated us $77 within an hour of our email.
Thats some great service, and thanks for the tip!!”
it is actually much cheaper at buy.com – around $220 – $230
Thanks Rob. Looks like Buy has them in stock around $244 today… good prices all around!
I bought this from Amazon almost a month ago, and they also refunded the difference ($77) of the new lower price. I actually talked to someone on the phone. Great customer service!
I considered getting an N800, but decided on the new Sony PSP-2000 instead. It`s not too bad for wireless browsing, other than the 802.11b & older Flash v6 (no Youtube) and a fairly cheap alternative at $170. Hopefully, it’ll hold me over until I find a TZ90 or P7230 w/ULV Santa Rosa & 128GB SSD =)
