OK, I’m a butthead- taking the HP 2710p to Vegas
You heard me right, I am officially a butthead after dragging everyone through the waffling on which Tablet PC to take to Vegas. Yesterday I finally made my mind up to take the Fujitsu P1610 due to its small, light form factor. I synced my documents over and got it ready to go. I used it all day yesterday to get used to the great experience that the small device provides and was ready to take it with me. Late last night it hit me that I have never traveled with the HP 2710p and that experience would be very useful to see how it works for me while traveling. The longer I dwelled on it the more appropriate it seemed to take the HP with me instead of the P1610. I have traveled a lot with the Fuji and I know how well it does with that but while I am pretty confident the HP will also travel well I have not done so. So, once again today I am changing my mind and the way it looks right this minute I am going to take the HP 2710p to Vegas. We leave in just a few hours so I better not change my mind again.

Ok well I was planning on asking you what I should be looking for in my next tablet PC…
But looks like you aren’t the right person to ask. I think you’re *pretty* close to being just as indecisive as me. Nearly… But not quite haha
On the plus side of things though, you learn to be very very good at dealing with many things at once.
On the one side I’m bothered because you again show that you have a stable of tablets while I only have a Q1.
On the other hand I just installed Vista on it and I’m thinking about getting a TX1000 sometime in the future. Your blogging about your travel experience will help me with both situations.
So have a nice trip and keep those posts a-coming.
vm-01, please note that the TX1000 is a good entertainment notebook but a lousy mobile device as it’s big and heavy. It also has the worst inking (Tablet PC) experience of any device I have ever used.
OK so now that you are done waffling over which tablet to take, do we now move on to:
Slim standard battery only
Slim standard + slim extended?
Slim dock?
A/C charger or test battery life “on the road”?
EVDO card or leave it and go to Starbucks?
I hope your wife does the clothes packing.
No more waffling, here’s what I am taking with me:
2710p
Ultra-slim battery
Standard A/C adapter
Verizon ExpressCard EVDO modem
That’s it!
BTW, I will be at the Luxor in Vegas, anybody local who wants to come by and have a coffee email me and we’ll give it a go.
I still think you shouldn’t bring anything. Well, maybe a cell phone.
Unless you plan on sitting in the hotel a lot, most of the time, it’s a lot of walking around.
Plus, Vegas is a place you leave stuff behind.
I thought it was just “what happened” that stayed in Vegas? You mean gadgets stay there too? Oh my!
