Blackberry_digital_penDigital pens are nothing new but the just announced Blackberry Digital Pen is the first to be endorsed by RIM and offered in Canada.  The Digital Pen lets you ink notes, email and other documents using the pen with special paper and by simply pushing a button sends the document to the Blackberry for further action.  It’s a simple matter of inking an email and having it sent directly through the Blackberry to the desired recipient.  The Digital Pen is not cheap at $439 and will require an annual subscription for $139 ($101 the first year) and the digital notepads can be purchased through Solutions into Motion, the Canadian distributor for the Digital Pen.  The Digital Pen has been available in the UK for three years and is quite popular so the expansion into other countries is not surprising.  The pen ships with Anoto, handwriting recognition software which converts the ink into digital text if desired.
