Alltel offers family tracking handsets, kids dump phones everywhere

Logo_alltelOK, all parents can leave the room now. That should just leave the kids. Now kids, if your cell phone isn’t with Alltel, you can leave too. Don’t take it personally. We should just be down to kids with Alltel cell phones, right? ‘k, here’s skinny: Alltel is launching Axcess Family Finder, so that your parents can determine where you are based on your handset. It will cost them $9.95 a month to track you better than Jack Bauer tracks baddies, so maybe they’ll pass on the service. It also only works on the made-for-kid models like the LG AX8600, Samsung U520, and the Samsung R510“Wafer" so you might be in the clear for now. Oh and watch out for the Scheduled Checks function that peeps your position at parent determined times; it shoots a text message to ‘em at every checkpoint. Good luck my little friends, you’re going to need it.

LMAO @ tracking you better than Jack Bauer tracks baddies!

Actually, I like phones with GPS not so much because of tracking where people are, but because if I lose my phone or have it stolen, I wanna know where the heck it is.

Secretly posting to kids only? You’re creeping me out.
