Dragon headset: 100 meters of wireless Bluetooth bliss?

Callpod_dragonlowresSince I can’t think of any phones that have Bluetooth Class 1 radios, the Callpod Dragon Bluetooth headset just might be overkill. Then again, I did find a Class 1 Bluetooth computer dongle for under $40 at Amazon today (affiliate link), so you can Skype all around the house. In either case, $119 nets you the Callpod Dragon and its 100 meter wireless range. Another interesting feature is a push-to-talk like function between two Callpod Dragons. I doubt I’ll be ditching my Motorola mini walkie-talkies anytime soon, but it’s a nifty trick. You can USB charge the Dragon in around three hours which provides eight hours of talk time or up to 300 hours of standby. Callpod says that their Dual-Mic Noise Suppression technology keeps the good noise in and the bad news out. Might be worth a look if you want a comfy-looking, super long-range Bluetooth headset.

  • Many of the BT headsets on the market are Class 1 – just very few of the phones (certainly none of the Smartphones with the dreadful Microsoft bluetooth stack) are Class 1, so absolutely no benefit at all IMHO

  • I wonder if this would be a good pairing with Dragon Naturally Speaking? That would be wonderful. They do have the same name, after all.
