iGo discontinues Stowaway keyboard
Kevin and I both have been using the venerable iGo Stowaway Bluetooth keyboard for years due to its full-sized keys provided in a folding form that will fit in a shirt pocket. We haven’t found a better performing keyboard for the mobile set so it is extremely disappointing to hear that iGo is discontinuing the Stowaway and dropping it from its product line. According to iGo they want to focus on their main product line, the iGo power adapters so they will drop the keyboard like a hot potato. If you have been considering a mobile keyboard without compromises you’d better act fast to find one (affiliate link) before inventories begin drying up.

This is a crying shame, the original Stowaway design is legendary – personally, I’ve used the Casio, USB and now the Bluetooth flavour and they have *all* been extraordinary ! (NB there are some other, more compact variants also originally designed by Think Outside that are much harder to use, this model is the Sierra)
Stowaway Bluetooth keyboard is the best mobile keyboard I have ever used. What’s a pity that they stop supporting it. I wish they would open sourced the driver code so that other people may extend the useful life of the existing Stowaway keyboards.
Shame on you, iGo. I have to wonder why iGo acquired Thinkoutside in the first place.
It’s only been about a year and a half since the iGo guys acquired ThinkOutside…

Seems like even the small guys can’t get mergers and acquisitions right. First it’s “expand into new markets”, then it’s “focus on core competencies”. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Eh. I was never keen on that KB to begin with, in all variants. Still, it does seem like the end of an era. Well, bring on the next era!
I picked one up on Amazon for $29.99 right before Christmas, and I couldn’t be happier. Its the best keyboard I’ve used so far….
I noticed last week there were some deep cuts in the price of these keyboards. I had no idea why. Looks like I just found out.
