Word is coming out about a new Korean UMPC that looks very much like the troubled Cloudbook but with an important difference- there is a touchscreen.  The link with a lot of photos is to a French site but it looks like the Sangjut TangoX has the following specs:

  • Via C7 processor
  • 1 GB of RAM
  • 80 GB hard drive
  • 800×480 resolution
  • 4in1 card reader
  • WiFi
  • Integrated Skype phone
  • Touch screen

  • Well, that shows that Everex’s claim of a touchscreened CloudBook isn’t so far-fetched after all.

And yet I can’t see myself using a screen that small and with a hinge that won’t twist and fold back for tablet-like use.

Besides, hasn’t jk already made clear that we all need the palm-rejection technology of his Fuji to avoid vectoring and recognition problems?

  • Palm rejection would certainly make the whole thing work better as my experience tells me.

  • The keypad to the left ofthe screen in the picture above has been purported to be a detachable Skype phone.

    In case you were interested…

  • I believe the name of the Korean company is Sungju and not Sangjut.
