Since we covered an expectant geek’s least favorite word or phrase yesterday, it’s only fair to highlight the most favorite. Mine is shown in the UPS tracking pic above… looks like Samwise the Samsung Q1 Ultra Premium should be here soon. I’d also add words and phrases like: “free overnight delivery”, “closeout price”, “extra battery included”, and “no contract required”. What’s missing from the list?

  • “Your order has shipped”
“The UPS truck just turned onto our street!”

  • That’s the exact same email I got on my phone when my sister, who is a midwife, had to go and deliver a baby. That was at Horsham near Gatwick airport though.
Probably not the same at all.

  • John in Norway: it’s time to come clean. You know that neighbor you never seem to see that lives a few doors down? That’s me. ;)

  • I am hitting refresh once in a while today as well, as my new VAIO TZ with SSD drive is Out for Delivery too. On Monday VAIO UX490 is coming – I think I will have TZ and UX race and see which one boots up quicker (both has the same SSD drives of 48 GB). Shipping to my business address is the best thing, as FedEx and UPS unloads there first thing in the morning and I can get my hands on stuff by 10am.

  • I have enjoyed watching/waiting with you Kevin! I am looking forward to hearing how Samwise fits into your family of “necessities”.

I am lucky. I have had the same UPS driver for the last 5-10 years…. and he coached my son’s baseball team 8 years ago…. so if I have a package coming, I call him on his cellphone to be on the lookout… and when it hits town…I call again…. and usually get the package pretty quick!

Fed Ex, a different story..but I am working on him (christmas gift, cold soda on hot day, etc)….

for now, I always cross fingers and hope delivery is by UPS :)

  • Getting two identical packages but being charged for just the one?

(And contacting me for my address so you can send the additional…)

OK, maybe not the second part.

    Expect videos later today.

  • So, what’s the deal, Kevin?

Are you in geek heaven yet, or what?

Should we be expecting an unboxing video soon?

  • Samwise has arrived but I had to leave The Shire before he got there. Luckily, Barb was there to take delivery. I’m out helping my son Tyler pick out his first pair of glasses so no unboxing until tonight at the earliest. :(

  • That was a close one.

For a second there I though it had fallen in to Orc hands.
