I ordered my HP Mini-Note the day they came out and the waiting is killing me. I web-checked the status a few minutes ago. HP says it’s been confirmed as having shipped today, but says it won’t be delivered to me (in Pittsburgh PA) until April 28th (or perhaps the 22nd). I’m not sure what’s up with that. I’m concerned that the “free ground shipping” HP offered might mean that it’s coming from China via cargo ship (which is not what I had in mind when I accepted the offer of free ground shipping – but that’s another story).

Meanwhile I’m drooling over the Waterfield Designs sleeves (and perhaps one of their Cargo bags to go with it). But now I’m having angst over which Mini-Note sleeve to order. There weren’t a lot of customization options available when I ordered the Mini-Note, so it’s coming to me with the standard 3-cell battery. But I’m probably going to supplement that with a 6-cell battery at some point. So I don’t know whether to order the smaller sleeve or the larger one.

All in all, I guess that’s a good dilemma to have. And I have a few days to think about it.

Oh well, I called HP this morning and checked the status of my order. The rep said they won’t even have the HP Mini in the warehouse until the 28th of April, which is too long for me to think about the purchase, so I canceled the order. I’ll wait on the upcoming models including the eee 900 and see how that goes.

I have 4 of these sleeves for different devices. Two of them have the flap and two don’t and I much prefer the flap. THe flap with a shoulder strap lets me carry just the sleeve as a small case and I love that ability. I’m carrying it with me right now matter of fact.

The sleeve is smaller and lighter without the flap but you’ll have to carry it in something else for total protection.

I’m thinking about ordering one of these sleeves for my MacBook Air. Do I want the flap or not? Please weigh in with an opinion. Thanks!

I agree Matt, The waiting is brutal!! It gives me too much time to go back and forth. I know I want the device, but I don’t want to wait anymore than a few days before getting it. I checked my order status with hp and the estimated date is April 18th, but if I click on the Line Item Detail page and click on More Info, it shows me an estimated ship date of April 28th. Are they giving me a reason to keep calling? I’ll try to hold off and be patient.

Do you have access to my credit card or something? I actually did already order one of these for the Mini-Note that I ordered. Now, I just have to see if I am patient enough to wait for the Mini to arrive
