Lapworks Futura on the way, good for home or mobile
For the longest time, I’ve been using a coaster to prop up the back of my MacBook Pro in the home office. It’s time to get a little more professional in case I have any company. After reading the review James did for the Lapworks Aluminum stand, I decided to order a Lapworks Futura for $30. This stand is similar to the one James has but it’s made of ABS plastic and seems to have more cutouts for air-flow. I like how the Lapworks units can be adjusted to five different typing angles, plus they’re light enough to carry around if you want a little ergo with your coffee at Starbucks. This looks like it could replace the current lapdesk I use outside of the office. That one is nice and cushioned, but doesn’t do anything for device heat.

I’ve had one for about 6 months now and absolutely love it! Works great on a desk or on your lap.
Highly recommended.

If you’re in the mood for the Lapworks stand, but blanching at the price a bit (as I did)…here’s the same product branded by Aidata at Cyberguys.com for less than half the price – approx $30. Same Delorean-brushed aluminum. Same swivel base. Same neoprene sleeve. Love mine.

I use a ring binder. Cost: free from the stationnary cupboard…
Would this be any good as a tabletPC stand? It would be very useful if tabletPC’s came with legs built-in like the HP TC 1000
