I'll try out SugarSync...I've always been a big Briefcase user on my WinXP and WinVista machines and a thumb drive. But the briefcase function is terribly slow on Vista and I'm looking for a replacement. I don't really need online sync/storage, I just want to sync files with my thumb drive and with my computers. Anybody have any advice as to what else to try?

One basic feature missing in Sugarsync is deleting registered computers. You can still delete individual files under each computer, but there is currently no way to remove once registered computers.

Your review didn't go into site security, encryption, etc.

Kevin,

SugarSync is pretty good. I've even gotten some mileage out of the Blackberry client.

Your review points to one missing feature. I'll add two more that I'd love to see:

1. Mounting SugarSync as a drive. One thing I absolutely love about Amazon S3 is the ability to mount buckets as drives on my computers. I use JungleDisk to do that, and it makes for a pretty seamless experience. It also gives me added storage on my MacBook Air.

2. An API into GoogleDocs or Zoho. I know this is still a while away from happening, but I like how I can store files on box.net and then edit them directly through the box.net-zoho integration.

I'm sure the SugarSync team is working on other things, but overall I have to agree with you that it is a pretty good service.
