jkOnTheRun HP HDX Dragon contest- we have a winner!
Wow, time flies when you’re having fun and we certainly have had our fill of fun running the 31 Days of the Dragon contest here on jkOnTheRun. Entries shut down last night at midnight and we have scoured through all of them and can now announce the big winner! Kevin and I knew that with the 11 questions we required to be correctly answered that the ultimate winner would end up being the one who was closest to the official number of comments and posts that had been logged as of the contest kickoff time and we sure got that right. We are happy to announce that Stefano Arduino is the big winner of the HP and BuzzCorps supplied HP HDX Dragon prize bundle for answering the 9 questions correctly and then coming amazingly close to the correct number of posts and comments. It is obvious that Stefano spent quite some time counting posts and comments for his entry. We are waiting for Stefano to get back to us with confirmation but we believe from his email address that he is in France.
For the record, here are the correct answers to the 11 questions that comprised the contest:

Uh, “Independence Day” was directed by Roland Emmerich. Andrew Davis directed “The Fugitive”…
I’m almost crying right now. I answered all the question but I missed #6, and I also counted manually all the posts and comments, counting 29.310 and 7.906. I can’t believe it.
BTW my name is also Stefano, when I saw that I thought I’d won :’-(
Congrats!!
How many entries did you receive?
Dang, I thought it was a random draw from the people with the most correct answers…if I had known it would be “exact” answers I would’ve spent more time with my answers. Oh well!
“Independence Day” technically WAS produced by Andrew Davis… but he left the production very close to the project being finished… I honestly think it’s silly to name Andrew Davis as having produced the movie though since he’s not even in the credits for the movie. Heck, he’s made so many other movies that are notable (like “The Fugitive”), that I can’t understand why he’d post a movie he didn’t even stick around for here in the forums.
I’m just curious to figure out exactly when the comments and posts were being calculated FROM. I calculated up to when the HDX dragon giveaway was posted and the answers here look like they include the posts and comments as of today. That’s a bit disappointing. Oh well.
Congrats Stefano!
We don’t verify the validity nor identities of any comments left here on the site, rather we take commenters at their word. The comments and posts counts were noted from the official site host as of the contest kickoff and they are accurate. We received a lot of entries for the contest.
I should add that we thank everyone for participating and we wish everyone could have won but that just can’t be. Congratulations, Stefano!
THE ‘HDX’ contest for nearer and dearer ones
I WOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH!
I can’t believe it!
I have to thank my girlfriend who helped me counting the posts and the comments!
THANK YOU ALL! I WAS UP ALL NIGHT AND I SPENT THE WHOLE WEEKEND ON THIS!!!
CIAO!
“Dang, I thought it was a random draw from the people with the most correct answers…if I had known it would be “exact” answers I would’ve spent more time with my answers. Oh well!”
Jess, that’s exactly what we did. Since the announced winners post count was within one we realized he included the contest kickoff post in his count which is entirely understandable so we gave him that answer. That made him the only entrant with 10 correct answers out of the 11.
Lol, well done Stefano. Not bad for a weekends work!
You owe your girlfriend a VERY nice night out!
Do you know that I didn’t know even ONE answer.
Strangely, I am very proud of that.
(Now back to my Texas agents who are screwing up JK’s EVDO. Nyahahaha!)
I told my wife I would have stood a better chance of winning if only she’d let me have a girlfriend!
Congrats to the lucky winner.
Would be nice to see your face when u open the boxes!
Congrats!
Congratulations Stefano!
I would have sworn I should have won by using 42 as the answer to all the questtions. It is the ultimate answer afterall.
