Site note: track my app usage in the sidebar with Wakoopa
I’ve temporarily added a link to my Wakoopa profile in the sidebar under our cartoon heads. I’ve installed the free Wakoopa software so I can track application usage on my UMPC as I try to live in the browser. This makes it easy for you to see how honest I’ve kept myself. I see that Wakoopa has picked up nearly 3 minutes of Windows Explorer usage in the past four days, but I haven’t opened it. In fact, I’ve browsed my filesystem in Firefox directly. I gather that this Windows Explorer usage is from adding images to blog posts… when I do that in TypePad on the web and click the Browse button, the standard Windows Explorer browse functionality opens up. I plead "not guilty" on that one.
Since I’m using extensions in Firefox, I’d love to see Wakoopa integrate a way to track those as well. As of now all I can tell is that I run Firefox 99% of the time. I already knew that!

The Windows Explorer usage could be the desktop and start menu…??? I believe this belongs to the Explorer process too.
Add-on tracking would be very useful. Good point.

I’m suprised that you use AVG. Not that i believe it to be a bad AV application but in the fact that i’m going to assume you only use the free version (which dosen’t have real time web browser security as far as i’m aware). If this is the case then i would have to scold you as FF is increasingly becoming targeted for use of malicious scripts. I would still admit though that FF it is much safer that IE.
