Travel Channel to rollout the Travel Channel GO- wants jkOnTheRun readers to test
I like watching the Travel Channel and getting to explore new places to see if I might like traveling there in the future. I was very pleased this weekend to hear from the folks at the Travel Channel who shared with me an upcoming service called the Travel Channel GO which brings the flavor of their offerings to your cell phone. The Travel Channel GO offers searching and sophisticated information right in your hand on your phone and I’ve been playing with it the past few days. It is very entertaining while being informative at the same time. The service is not live yet but the folks at the Travel Channel want to make it available to readers of jkOnTheRun and have created a private beta for you. Just go to this special jkOnTheRun portal and sign up and you’ll see why I think this is going to be very cool. It’s free so there is no risk to you, just try it out and see what you think. This is a great opportunity to give these folks your feedback about this new feature. It’s also very nice that the Travel Channel not only knows who we are but also knows that our readers are the very people who can help them with this new rollout. Enjoy!

I was excited to test it out and help show the world that every app should be have a jkontherun private beta. They should do that because of all the excellent feedback they would get.
But then I get, “Check back soon for a download designed especially for your T-mobile Dash.”
I think this service would be awesome. I think this might be the best service I didn’t know I needed. I’ll be checking back, I’m looking at your Travel Channel .
Yeah, I also received a similar message as my HTC win 6.1 is also not supported.

Hi Cody B and CDNRower,
Thanks for your valuable feedback – we love and welcome comments like this as we’re always looking to continuously improve this brand new service!
While our current support for native applications is still ramping up (currently only Java-enabled BlackBerry and Nokia devices), Travel Channel GO is available on *any* web-enabled mobile device.
Your feedback has shown that our message on the mobile landing page was a bit ambiguous, since it drove you towards the downloadable application link – so we’ve fixed the message to become more clear. Please check it out again and keep the comments coming!!
Thanks,

Wow Chris, thanks for following up with us. I for one really appreciate the open communication and will certainly follow your work-around to complete the application as it’s ‘web only’. I work in Russia as well, so here’s hoping that you can branch out internationally -as far as content goes, and that you work to support WM Pocket PC devices. Thanks again for the quick reply.
