The same situation at the school where I teach. No Vista support at all. Even getting my Vista TPC to connect to their WEP connection was a hassle (they had me make some network settings changes in CMD prompt to connect).

They just started supporting XP64 this summer. Talk about way too late…

XP also is a requirement at the community college where I teach. Or put it another way, college IT vetoes use of Vista. So my HP 2710p from the college has XP Tablet PC edition. Vista was vetoed, despite my best efforts. Maybe they saved me from myself, maybe not, but the point IT at a lot of educational institutions (and maybe at large corporations as well) may have anti-Vista policies.

That’s interesting… with XP “going away” on devices like this in general, it sounds like there might be exceptions for educational institutions, which I wasn’t aware of. Thanks!

XP is a school requirement (or strong advisement). Per the VT College of Engineering website (http://www.eng.vt.edu/academics/comp_require.php): “Vista Statement: The College of Engineering is strongly advising its students to continue to use Windows XP Tablet Edition 2005 as their primary operating system.”
