Verizon Treo 700wx getting Windows Mobile 6?

Treo700wxHas it really been eleven months since the last major firmware upgrade for Verizon’s Palm Treo 700wx? Shucks, it has! Don’t think that "your precious" is ready to chuck down a Hobbit hole just yet… Treocentral has news of an update to Windows Mobile 6 for you!  I’m not sure why WinMo 6.1 wouldn’t be a better candidate at this point, but I think device owners will be happy nonetheless when this update hits.

I might not use my Dash much these days, but after I upgraded it to Windows Mobile 6, I found it much more stable on my handset and therefore more enjoyable to use. Two caveats apply here: this update is expected for Verizon devices only and if you run the update, you can’t go back to Windows Mobile 5.0.

  • I find it quite unfair that Verizon gets a upgrade to Windows Mobile 6 and Sprint doesn’t. Either all Treo 700wx users have it or none of them. I will not support Palm if they don’t be fair to their customers.
