Great show like always. The contract/subsidy issue is interesting. I have been an AT&T customer for quite some time now but have never had to renew my contract beyond my initial two year in 2001. This is mostly because I buy phones from importers and just swap out the SIM, but what I remember a specific instance in 2003 when I bought an MPX200 from AT&T and asked to pay the full price, not the subsidized price, so I would not have to sign a new two year contract. I got a new phone, paid full price, and did not have to sign anything stating that I was under contract for two years. Sure enough, six months later I purchased another phone from AT&T, and they said I still qualified for a discount since I did not get a subsidy for the MPX before. This was back in 2003 so it may be different now, but I don't see how you would not qualify for the iPhone since you never got a subsidy.
